FRAME : 5 trillion frames per second? Know about world’s fastest Cam!
Hello guys, Welcome again for yet another interesting article.
A new trend added for slow motion loving peoples. Forget about MIT’s 1 trillion frames per second camera, real beast is out now. Researches at Lund University in Sweden creates a camera that shoots 5 trillion images in a second.
This camera is called by a perfect name “FRAME” – Frequency Recognition Algorithm for Multiple Exposures. Imagine this can possibly capture the movement of light. The camera has given name based on the technique FRAME captures several images at once encoded into a single picture. There is a code that is added to each pulse of laser. In order to split time down that finely, the camera pulls several images out of a single frame. While the “shutter” is open, several different laser light flashes hit the subject. Each laser flash is visually coded, so it can be separated from the rest of the information in the frame afterwards using a decryption key.
The article below will remind you about previous record of fastest camera.
Where could this be used mostly? Of course it would be expensive for common person to use, it would rather be used in Scientific, Medical and Industrial research to visually track the processing at less than a normal second. The research is still continued to take this speed ad molecular level. “Currently, high-speed cameras capture images one by one in a sequence,” Lund writes. “The new technology is based on an innovative algorithm, and instead captures several coded images in one picture. It then sorts them into a video sequence afterwards.” Still it is possible to capture the chemical reaction. The technology is currently being commercialized by a German company, and it’s estimated that it’ll be ready for widespread use within about two more years.
What you think to use this camera if it possible for you to capture something. Let us know in comments down, see you soon!
