Honking poles for roads to help prevent accidents on deadly turns
Vehicles are smart now a days to take action at the time of accident; airbags and stuff. ‘Roads that honk’ is the initiative taken by HP Lubricants and Leo Burnett india which helps prevent accidents on the roads especially blind turns.
This Anti-collision vehicle management system is claimed to be first of its kind and uses Smartlife poles to warn the vehicle drivers on the road by honking for them. Poles on the both side communicate with each other sharing data of upcoming vehicle’s speed which they determine by sending electromagnetic signals using RADAR sensors.
These poles can be charged with solar panels and they are installed on key hairpin bends such as NH1 road in North India, along the Jammu-Srinagar Highway, which has been termed as one of the deadliest roads in India, as pointed out in a report by Oncars.
Their youtube video will give you everything you need to know about this technology.
They are planning to install these poles on dangerous bends across the country. We will wait and see how this tech turns out to be as it is currently being tested.
