New Stunning Google Earth with VR experiance
Google unveiled stunning version of Google Earth as a gift on Earth Day, which has been with us since 2001 but couldn’t evolve as much as google’s other technologies.
Now it is packed with bunch of new features like VR experience, 3D imagery etc. making it more awesome and amazing. No doubt, Google has put a lot of effort in this program. That will either make you want to book a trip to some distant part of the world or just appreciate the Earth right from your own place. Or maybe both.
“We want to open up different lenses for you to see the world and learn a bit about how it all fits together; to open your mind with new stories while giving you a new perspective on the locations and experiences you cherish,” Google product manager Gopal Shah wrote in a blog post.
That clearly makes it interesting already. Have a look at Google Earth’s info screen.
New features we mentioned above can be seen on the home screen of Google Earth.
Buttons on the left column are Search, Voyager, I’m Feeling Lucky and you can see 2D/3D mode button, Street mode on bottom right. They say that view whole world in 3D now by enabling 3D mode.
With The Voyager feature you can allow you to go on an adventure with the professional guide. YouTube videos can be played on the screen simultaneously with the narration. For example you can go on a tour of Tanzania’s Gombe National Park and also get to know about chimpanzee research and conservation efforts from Jane Goodall herself. All along with 3D experience and street view makes it more lively.
My favorite is the VR experience that will take you there using VR headsets no matter where you are.
“When we first launched Google Earth VR, we knew there was something powerful about being able to point anywhere in the world and start flying,” said Kim.
