Would you like to go on a space flight?
Bunch of companies like Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, some Chinese company are trying to build commercial space planes to take civilians on a tour of space and give them an awesome experience. Some of them like Blue Origin has successfully built one and already tested it like four times(However with empty capsules). They are soon planning on testing with test pilots and even passengers probably this year.
They have given names to their Space planes too, How cute! ‘SpaceShipTwo’, ‘New Shepherd’ etc.
Passengers capacity is different in every planes like capsules with the capacity of six passengers are being tested already but China here wants more. They are planning to build a Space plane which will be capable of carrying up to twenty passengers(whoa! that’s huge).
Actually there are two variants of that Space plane Chinese Academy is planning to build by the year 2020, the smaller one with only five passenger capacity. Re usability is the good concept here. These vehicle can be used for more than one flight unlike some Space Shuttles which can only fly once. It could save whole lot of money.
You must be thinking, How high it can fly? Well, These some sort of Space Planes are going to take you to 62 miles(100-130 kilometers) above earth. However that is not exactly the space we can call but it is the edge of our atmosphere, so almost into space. You will feel weightlessness there like you have seen in Sci-fi movies but only like 4 minutes(oh! that’s sad, right?). Come on would you like going France but only for 4 minutes :(? Of course i’d like to stay longer but oh well.
I know I know you all are dying to know that how much is it going to cost us to go on a flight like this?(jk lol!). It is going to cost you a fortune for that. 200,000$ to 250,000$ is the estimated ticket price. Now i am going to ask you once again, Would you really like to go on a trip like this? :p
Unless you are Richie Rich’s distant cousin; we are happy with taking a Space tour in some VR headsets.
